Medical source: Two deaths of “cholera" epidemic recorded in Ibb

Two deaths from cholera have been reported in the central province of Ibb, a medical source said Monday.

A number of children and women were infected with cholera in al-Maseel area of al-Odin district in western Ibb province, the source said.

According to the source, two deaths from cholera have been recorded in "Al-Masil" area, and a number of cases have been reported to the Al-Mazahen Rural Hospital in the Directorate of Far’a Al-Odin.

The registration of these deaths comes days after a death from diphtheria was recorded in the Radhma district in north-eastern Ibb province, in the midst of a deteriorating health condition in the province.

The nearly five-year war has led to a significant deterioration in Yemen's health sector, particularly in militia-controlled areas.
