Clashes between gunmen and army personnel at Al-Abbr Triangle point in Hadramaut Desert


Members of an army checkpoint at “Al-AbbrTriangle point in the Hadhramaut desert in eastern Yemen clashed with gunmen who refused to stop at the point and started shooting at their members.

A military source told Al-Masdar Online that gunmen in a car tried to bypass a 23rd Micah brigade post, refusing to stop and started shooting at the point' personnel, causing the point personnel to clash with them.

According to the source, the gunmen belong to the Al-Sayair tribes and are likely to be linked to smuggling gangs and bandits, and the clash ended with the arrest of the gunmen and their detention at the 23rd Mecha  Brigade, which is based in Al-Abbr district.

During the past period, the area of Al-Abar witnessed attacks on military personnel and attacks in which civilian and military victims were killed, the latest of which was a bombing targeting a bus on Wednesday in the road linking al-Abbr area and Al-Wadee’ah land port, resulting in the death of civilians and other Saudi military personnel.
